Valorie is now 11 years old, and we have been in Texas since August 2010, as we wanted to be closer to family, however she has gotten pretty sick since we moved back. She has been admitted to the children's Hospital 3 times and that started September 2010- each time spending at least 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital. Her lungs have had a real struggle over these last 1 1/2 years.
She has been enrolled to the public school here in our area since August 2010 but due to her health and hospital visits she has missed a lot, she has had pulmonary problems as well as daily headaches which started 1/2011. Valorie has been getting a home bound teacher come to our place twice a week to teach her here at home. She is doing alright but she does miss being able to attend school and be around her friends.
Over this last year and a half we have been working real hard to help Valorie's health improve, it just seems to be a vicious cycle. She has also been diagnosed recently with Cirrhosis of the Liver. This adds a whole new thing to Valorie and her daily care. She currently takes up to 17 pills for her health issues, then she takes enzymes with each meal to help her digest her food - that can be 17-22 per day-.
The good news is that she has been gaining weight and is getting taller, that was a difficulty for so long.
With the many health problems Valorie has encountered over this last time here in Houston we have decided to move back to the Missouri State. Its' not easy as our family all lives here in Texas but we do have many friends up in Missouri as well. We hope and pray that this move will be better for Valorie's health and overall for the rest of us too.
